A somewhat unusual pair of shoes after find no. Cf-001 from the Roman fort at Didymoi, Egypt, dated to the late 1st century.
The fort at Didymoi, built by the Roman army on the Coptos/Berenice road in 76/77 AD and occupied until the second quarter of the 3rd century, has yielded an important collection of leather objects: fragments of garments, footwear, wineskins, gourds, pieces of harness, sheaths and scabbards, offering a complete panorama of the different leather objects used on the Roman army's military road forts.
