A pair of boots after the Type 2.1 Boots found in the wreck of the Mary Rose, which sank in 1545. Looking at how they are constructed and closed, one may say these are a sort of continuation of the 15th century high riding boots. They are, however, of a welted construction. Similar boots can be seen in a 1523 woodcut by Leonhard Beck.
