A cess pit in Rostock yielded 16 shoe lasts, some of them pairs, dated to the 14th/15th century. Almost all of them show markings, possibly denoting the maker/owner and size. All are made from soft wood (spruce or pine) and show traces of use. This is an almost 1:1 reconstruction of the largest pair.
